X

Spaces on X now offers an incognito mode for better user privacy, as shared by content creator Radu Oncescu on Threads. Spaces are X’s audio room feature, allowing users to join conversations.

According to TechCrunch, Elon Musk plans to launch a video feature on Spaces by the end of 2023 or early next year. This feature lets users easily switch video on or off during Spaces sessions. X will also soon introduce a search feature for bookmarks, which X Designer Andrea Conway shared.

Meta

Meta is testing a multimodal AI feature on Ray-Ban Meta glasses in the United States. Powered by Bing, this feature assists users with tasks like identifying objects, visual translation, summarization, and creating captions based on pictures. Meta has also introduced Audiobox, allowing users to generate sound effects and voices based on text prompts.

Threads

Mark Zuckerberg mentioned on Threads that the platform explores engagement with decentralized platforms. Threads are testing posts from Threads accounts available on Mastodon and other services using the ActivityPub protocol. Threads has officially launched in the European Union, reaching about 448 million residents. Dark mode is now available on Threads’ web for a more comfortable viewing experience.

Instagram

Instagram Live Producer is now accessible to professional accounts, providing broadcasters with third-party production tools on desktop. Instagram Stories introduces “Add Yours” templates for more creative expression, allowing users to add text, images, and GIFs to templates shared by other creators. Other updates include two-second looping videos in Notes, improved automated spam detection, and the availability of the AI media editing tool Backdrop.

WhatsApp

WhatsApp allows users to pin messages at the top of text threads, as announced on WhatsApp X. Pins can endure 24 hours, seven days, or 30 days. To utilize this feature in a chat, simply click on the three buttons at the top right-hand corner and choose the pin option.

YouTube

YouTube allows qualifying creators to give their audience complimentary channel memberships, enhancing visibility. This functionality can raise awareness for channels. To join, creators must have channel memberships activated and provide a membership tier priced below $5.

Snapchat

Snapchat’s 7 million Snapchat+ subscribers can explore new AI features for creating, capturing, and editing content. These features include generating images from text prompts, zooming out of pictures with AI, and making AI selfies with friends.
